The Spaces and Stories of Paimio Sanatorium guided tour takes you on a 90-minute  journey into the architecture, innovations, and everyday life of Paimio Sanatorium. This comprehensive experience combines captivating stories, groundbreaking design, and architectural ingenuity.

The tour takes visitors through various floors and rooms of the building, exploring its distinctive architecture and design elements, while sharing intriguing stories of patients and staff who once lived and worked at the sanatorium. Highlights include a visit to the iconic rooftop terrace, the surgical wing, and admiration of the first panoramic elevator in the Nordic countries. Weather permitting, the tour also includes an outdoor perspective of the building, allowing visitors to fully appreciate its flowing form and integration with the surrounding nature.

The experience culminates in the Rooms of the Sanatorium exhibition, where visitors can delve into the significance of design, colors, and furniture, and explore authentically restored patient rooms. This tour doesn’t just present the sanatorium as a building – it reveals the deeper story behind its design and purpose
