Spirit of Paimio returns on 21 October 2025, exploring the tension between two seemingly irreconcilable forces: the desire to preserve and the need to renew.

Under the theme Echoes of the Future, the conference considers how the Aaltos’ humane design ethos, grounded in nature, light and care, might inspire new responses to the challenges of our time, both at Paimio and beyond.

Bringing together architects, designers, thinkers and innovators in the iconic Paimio Sanatorium, the event offers a platform to explore how spatial practice can bridge past and future, reconnect disciplines, reimagine well-being, and strengthen the relationship between heritage and innovation.
